What is the difference between concrete sealers and concrete coatings? A sealer is usually classified as a penetrating solution that will lock out moisture, mold, mildew and efflorescence leaving a natural looking concrete slab. A coating on the other hand is usually classified as an industrial strength solution that is built up on top of the concrete protecting through layers of material.
